Welcome to the Kennesaw Archery Club!

The club has been in existence since 1988. We are affiliated with the National Archery Association (NAA) and the National Field Archery Association (NFAA). The NAA is affiliated with the Federation of International Target Archery (FITA) which is the international governing body for Olympic style archery competitions. The NAA promotes Olympic style archery.

The NFAA is primarily a bow hunter style organization. Their format focuses on target competition that simulates hunting conditions, like field, hunter and animal rounds as well as 3-D targets.

The Cobb County Parks and Recreation and Cultural Affairs department provides land for our use located on Pitner road in Kennesaw. We have an NFAA field range, a broadhead practice area for hunters and an Olympic target practice area that is laid out in measured meters from 10 meters to 90 meters.

We have a picnic pavilion with a barbecue pit and tables. There is a porta-john available, but no water or electricity to date.

Instruction / Cost/ Equipment

Our archery programs are open to anyone ages 8 and above, interested in the sport of archery. We have the ability to teach all phases of archery ranging from recurve to compound and longbow styles. In our introductory classes, we provide training equipment for recurve style archery lessons, however  you will have to provide your own equipment for compound and longbow styles. We hold classes on Saturday mornings to teach youngsters and adults target archery (see Archery Programs  for more detailed information )

The cost for the first beginner orientation session is $12, and is five dollars per session after the orientation session. All necessary equipment and instruction is included.

You only pay when you come to shoot.

Our    "new student" beginner sessions are limited to the first 15 students that sign up. Please e-mail or call 770-422-0806 to put your name on the list.

April-October =Outdoor Range

During the warmer months, (Apr. – Oct.) the classes are held at the outdoor range. They begin at 10:00AM and last about an hour. During the outdoor session, we only accept beginners on specific Saturdays at an 11:30 AM session (please see the schedule for those dates, and directions to download a map).

November - March = Indoor facility

During the winter, (Nov. – Mar.) we have access to a facility in Austell, GA.   David Evans, an avid archer, owns a welding shop there and has built an indoor range in his shop. He lets us use the facility on Saturday mornings to hold our classes.

Classes start at 10:00 am. Please arrive at 9:45 to gear up and be on the shooting line by 10:00 am.

Beginners are accepted only on specific Saturdays at an 11:30am class- please see the fall schedule for those dates, and directions to download a map.

David holds shoots on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm at the indoor range and welcomes all shooters . The cost is $7.50 to shoot a three-spot Vegas Round with the chance to win money at the end of the evening in a team shoot based on the scores just shot. For more information, contact David at (770) 944-9241.

Additional private training programs may be held from time to time by coaches on Wednesday evenings at that location.

Our club encourages its members to participate in competitions. There are several other clubs around the state that host tournaments during the year. The NAA and NFAA sponsor tournaments nationwide throughout the year.
