For those of you that have had the opportunity to work with Coach White, you know this honor and recognition is well earned, and well deserved. 2008 GA State Indoor Tournament morning winners! Results posted on GAA

---------------------------------------------------------

Rules for the Indoor Nationals have changed Per Kenny Compton, as follows:

.There will be only 2 official practice ends just prior to scoring. This will happen nationwide. However, we are allowed to provide a practice range if we want to. I have arranged with the Conyers Rec Department to have the shuffleboard courts removed for the weekend of the Nationals. That way we can set up some targets in the back part of the room for practice. Friday, Feb. 29th at 6:30PM is the first session of Nationals. I have scheduled to have the building open at 2PM so that I can set up the competition range and the practice range. Kent will help me set things up provided he doesn't have a job by then. If anyone else is available to help set up, we would greatly appreciate the help. Kent and I will spend the last half of the GA Archery Team meeting this Saturday getting target butts, stands, bow racks, etc. out of the trailer in preparation for the Indoor State tournaments. Also, since I'm setting up and running 4 tournaments over the next few weeks, State JOAD Indoor, GAA State Indoor, JOAD Nationals, & NAA Nationals, I was hoping someone would be willing to help me by getting the awards for the Indoor Nationals. It would be a big help to me if I didn't have to worry about that while organizing everything else. Registration:

Right now registration is going slow for all the up coming indoor tournaments, so please encourage the folks in your clubs to send in their registrations. If you have any question please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,

Kenny

2007 Cobb County Volunteer of the Year Award Banquet is a way for Cobb County to honor those that have put their heart and hours into the recreational programs. The county provides a lovely dinner for volunteers, and a recognition award for a specific volunteer.

We are pleased that Susan Hagerty is our nomination for this recognition.

We are all grateful for her perseverance and ever willingness to support this organization and the students in the programs, and she does so with kindness and respect to those around her.
As secretary/treasurer she has given countless hours to our organization and has supported and aided this club, maintaining all records and data for members and participants in the programs, coordinating and organizing picnic/tournament events for the members, gathering food & supplies to produce the events, and helped outside of her responsibilities in set up for classes when short handed. This, and countless other support efforts make her a key partner in our program.

We all greatly appreciate her help.
Thank-You Susan!

Jonathon Lovell makes Olympian!

Jonathon made both indoor and outdoor Olympian within a week of each scoring, and KAC recently held a celebration in his honor at the club. The Olympian achievement award is given by the NAA and has only been earned 3 times in our club history, one of which was Jonathon's dad, Shawn Lovell, seen in the center of the photo above, and at left in the photo below. JOAD Director Coach Don presents the cake (photo above). Jonathon was awarded an Olympian jacket, and certificates of achievement from the National Archery Association(below) Congratulations Jonathon !!!

Don has been with the club for quite some years, and during that time he has worked to maintain the range, coached, attended many of the GAA meetings in Conyers on KAC's behalf and is now handling the JOAD program, and, is always ready and willing to help with a big smile.

Thank-You Don for all your hard work at this club.

October Fun Shoot: Coach Don organized a great "end of season" pumpkin shoot. Students not only shot the pumpkins, and competed for prizes (which included movie tickets) but they were able to take home pumpkins as well, and enjoy cupcakes.
