2006 KAC JOAD Sponsorship Program

JOAD Camp at the Olympic Training Center

Last year, we initiated the KAC JOAD Sponsorship Program. This program provides an opportunity for two of our club members who participate regularly in the JOAD program to go to the Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Chula Vista , CA or to the Lake Placid NY Training Center for a week long training seminar. The cost of the seminar ( $400 each ) will be paid by the KAC. This includes room and board for the entire time you are at the OTC. The cost of travel to and from the venue will be borne by the participant.

We are proud to again offer this benefit to our JOAD members.

To be eligible for the KAC JOAD Sponsorship Program the archer must:

  • be at least 13 years old , or enter competitions at a “cub” level
  • be a National Archery Association (NAA) member in good standing
  • be a member in good standing of Kennesaw Archery Club & be a regular attendee of the Kennesaw JOAD classes held on Saturday mornings
  • compete regularly in local GAA tournaments, and must submit scores from both the Indoor State and Indoor National competitions from the most recent event .

Each archer must also submit a letter directed to Coach Jim White, the Selection Committee leader for this award , no later than June 26 outlining the archers involvement in JOAD, competitions, and a brief explanation of why they should be selected for the award. He, along with the coaching staff, will make the final selections.

Selection will be made based on a combination of factors including perceived potential by the coaches, archers attitude, coachability, attendance of competitions,   training regiment, level of determination, performance, progress exhibited, as well as scores submitted.

The letters can be brought to the Saturday JOAD class at the outdoor range or you may also submit your letter via email to both: kacarcher@aol.com   and kennesawarchery@yahoo.com
